Marie McGinnity BA (Hons), MICHTMarie graduated in 1985 from the University of Ulster with a BA (Hons) in European Studies. Following a postgraduate diploma in bilingual studies, she worked in Brussels for 2 years. She returned to Northern Ireland in 1989 and is now married with four children.
Marie first became interested in Craniosacral Therapy (CST) during her fourth pregnancy and found that it brought her enormous benefits. Her youngest child was treated at only 2 weeks old at a seminar in Belfast City Hospital and the treatment had such a dramatic effect that Marie decided to train in CST. Marie has now been practising Craniosacral Therapy or CST since 2005 and also has a Diploma in Chinese Reflexology and Acupressure, as well as a Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology and also trained in Somato Emotional Release (SER). These therapies have enabled her to combine traditional Chinese medicine along with CST techniques to assist clients in reducing pain and stress in their lives. Marie is particularly interested in treating adults as well as working with family groups; using CST to treat families as a whole in order to improve “family dynamics” and assisting them in managing the short-term and long-term effects of a sudden change in a family member’s well-being.
